Greetings all,
It is officially primary season and we had a great turnout for the Candidate Tailgate! Thank you to all the volunteers who made the event possible! We take a lot of pride in bringing you as many opportunities as possible to educate yourself on Democratic candidates who are running in upcoming elections, thus we love to see a great turnout for those events.

Along with supporting Democratic candidates who are running in 2026, we will also be supporting efforts to reject a proposed constitutional amendment that would change how Kansas Supreme Court justices are selected. To learn more about the proposed amendment and efforts to preserve an impartial judiciary, we encourage you to explore resources from:
We are also hosting our own forum discussing the courts and voting rights!

Topics to be covered during our forum:
- Constitutional Amendment-SCR 1611
- Concerns about political influence and dark money in courts
- Voter restrictions, including mail ballot deadline changes

A Note from a Fellow Shawnee County Democratic Precinct Committee Person
Please help Democratic Precinct Committee Person C. Alex Pantos and Marlene Pantos oppose a proposed 21,000 sq. ft. food trash dump just 250 feet from their home at 2920 S.E. Stubbs Road in Tecumseh, Shawnee County. There is a hearing being held by Shawnee County Land Use & Development on June 8, 2026. Alex asks that you send an email to ludev@snco.gov with the subject line: Case #CU26/02, or call 785.251.5410 to state your opposition.
There are serious health issues associated with proximity to a trash dump (8,000 cubic feet of trash/soil). The dump will attract vermin, roads will be degraded by trucks loaded with trash, and the proposed pile of trash is a potential fire hazard.
